Fifty Years of Lainey + Barbara

We go way back, starting from our playpen days when we were just 18 months old in 1973. Our story is filled with laughter, tears, embarrassing moments, and tons of support.

Childhood Adventures:

We were called the Bobbsey twins. Barbara and I were inseparable from day one. We walked, talked, and got into all sorts of mischief together. From walking hand in hand to kindergarten in Miss Morgan’s class, singing silly songs at the top of our lungs, to experiencing our first crushes and those heart-pounding first kisses (hers was my brother! Mine was some kid at a dance party, I think). We shared everything, including the awkward moments that still make us laugh until we can't breathe.

Teenage Tales:

The teenage years, a whirlwind of emotions and drama! Barbara and I had each other's backs through it all. We survived the rollercoaster of boyfriends, from the ones who made our hearts flutter to the ones who made us question our life choices. And let's not forget the "magical" milestone of “becoming women.”

Adulting Adventures:

As we ventured into adulthood, life threw its fair share of challenges our way, but we faced them head-on, hand in hand. Moving to new cities, changing careers, and trying to figure out what the heck we were doing with our lives (spoiler alert: we're still figuring it out!). We celebrated the victories of finding real boyfriends and, yes, we even experienced that infamous "first time" together days apart from each other! Then we were by each other’s sides when we both found the one and said “I do”…she was there for me both times!

 Raising the Next Generation:

Time flew by, and suddenly we found ourselves knee-deep in the beautiful chaos of motherhood. We shared the joys, frustrations, and sleepless nights of raising our kids. From dealing with pregnancies, baby puke and diaper explosions to exchanging parenting hacks and comforting each other during the toughest times, laughing and crying along the way.

The Golden Years:

Now, we find ourselves in the glorious phase of the PRE-golden years. The wrinkles are settling in, and we embrace every gray hair with a smile (well, not really). Menopause? Oh boy, we're tackling that beast together too! Hot flashes, mood swings, and moments of questioning our sanity. But through it all, we lean on each other, reminding ourselves that we're not alone in this wild journey of aging.

We've laughed, cried, and created countless memories together. Our friendship has stood the test of time, proving that no matter what life throws at us, we'll always have each other's backs. Here's to lifelong friendships, crazy adventures, and that one person who has been there through it all. Cheers to Lainey and Barbara, here’s to 50 more years!
