Thank you so much for considering Elaine Zelker Photography as your TWEEN & TEEN Fine Art Portrait Photography studio! I have 3 daughters and capturing them in their “TWEEN” years was a MUST for me…time goes by quickly and those days are the days we will remember the most. Before you know it (as I do…) they are young adults and off to college! Whether you have booked your session already or you are just looking around, I hope you find the info below to be useful. This is not a hum-drum photo shoot, we offer a creative and fun experience that your tween/teen will never forget! I promise your child will leave talking about the experience for a long time, and they will feel beautiful inside and out! And most importantly, the images are edited in a way that they will be pieces of art for the walls of your home for years to come. When you message me (info@elainezelker.com) for an appointment, we will then schedule a pre-session consultation. This is either a phone conversation or a meeting to discuss your goals for your session.

Your fine art photo session usually takes about 1-2 hours in my Easton, PA studio at the Simon Silk Mill. My goal is to photograph the true essence of your child, which brings out the very best in them. We will schedule a time to chat to go over the clothing and accessories you may need for the shoot ahead of time. These images will reflect a look that captures your child with a natural demeanor; not forced expressions. These images will be pieces of art for your walls.

I offer many custom products, including prints, canvas gallery wraps, beautiful frames, coffee table art books, albums and custom cards. I also offer digital images for sharing on social media sites and personal use.

TWEEN & TEEN FAQ’s

How do I book a shoot or get more information?

GREAT first step! Please fill out the contact form or email: info@elainezelker.com and within 24 hours we will send you an email response. We will answer your questions and once you are ready to book, we will work together to schedule your session date. Once the session fee ($150) is received, your session will be confirmed.

How far in advance should I schedule my session?

The earlier the better! If you want the best chance to receive your best date, please schedule as far in advance as possible. Weekends book up fast, but since these sessions are mainly done in my studio, we can shoot afterschool into early evening as well.

How long does my session last?

Tween & Teen sessions are usually 1-2 hours giving you plenty of time to fit in at least 2-4 looks. I shoot a lot…and won’t stop until I know I have “the shots”.

What does the $150 Session Fee include?

Elaine’s time and expertise as your photographer (with her team),

Pre-consultation over the phone, in-person, or via e-mail if you choose,

Professional editing of the best images from your child’s session,

The Photo Reveal about 1-2 weeks after the session (in the studio or on-line),

And a $50 print credit.

(The Session Fee does not include prints/digital downloads, or products.)

(This session fee is non-refundable but is transferable, if we need to change the date.)

When do I view my pictures?

Your images will be ready to be “revealed” to you about 2 weeks after your session. Before you see them, I will carefully go through all the photographs and choose the ones that are best for you to view. I will spend several hours editing them to ensure your images have that artistic feel we talked about. They will be cleaned up, color corrected, and cropped to perfection. I will edit them in color and black & white. You only purchase what you love.

What’s a “REVEAL”?

You have 2 choices for your session “reveal”. You can either view your images on a special on-line, password-protected gallery or preferably by appointment back at my studio.

Viewing online: Your images will only be available to view online for seven days (under some circumstances, I can reopen the album for additional time ($50 reopening fee)). I am more than happy to help you choose via email or phone if you need.

At the Studio: (The Best Choice) Viewing your images on my big screen at the studio means we will go over the selected, edited images together one-by-one. I can help you choose the most suitable products for your home (prints, canvas wraps, matted images, framed images, etc).

All printed images come with the digital file as well, so you can share on your social media sites, (and your child's!).

What should I wear?

I have created a Pinterest Board with tons of “ideas” you can use for your tweens and teens shoot; showing you different styles, outfits, accessories and hair ideas. I always say, the more plain the better. I also have tons of dresses and accessories for youe little lady. For the lads, I say bring slacks, jeans, a plain button-up shirt, and a casual outfit. We will go into more detail at your pre-event consultation.

When you arrive, we will go over the outfits and accessories you brought, (and of course, we can play in my “wardrobe/accessory box” as well), and choose what I think works best for your child.

Should I get my hair & makeup done?

This is totally optional. It is not required to have professional hair and makeup, but having it done will make you child camera ready. With tweens and teens, the amount and style of makeup will of course depend on the goals of your shoot. Sometimes we agree on the 100% natural look. If you are going for a more fine art dramatic look (which is my goal), a different style of makeup may be required. For most tween sessions, the best rule of thumb is to go slow and add as needed.

What happens at the shoot?

Parents can sit back and enjoy the session and watch as your child comes to life in front of the camera. I promise to guide your child through the session and make them feel comfortable and at ease. I shoot until I get the shot. (Many shots, in fact.) Time will vary from 30mins to 2 hours. We will give you lots of ideas and directions throughout your session to help you feel at ease. Sometimes the best photos are the candid ones. The more “non-forced” the better.

How far in advance do you book?

Weekday sessions book up about 2-4 weeks in advance, and Saturdays book up about 6-8 weeks out.

Where are you located?

The studio is located at the Simon Silk Mill in Easton, PA

Directions to Elaine Zelker's Photography Studio:

Google 1256 Bushkill Drive. (The Actual Address is 1256 Simon Blvd, but that road is not open yet). Take 22 to the 13th Street exit. At the Light, make a LEFT onto 13th St. Follow to first light (Bushkill Drive), and make a RIGHT. Take approx 1/8 mile and make a RIGHT at the SILK Sign (Pat's Brake Shop is at that corner....). Come down road and keep staying left and you will make a LEFT at the 1/2 brick wall. Keep staying left into the parking lot behind the 1256 building.

Can I copy the photos I have purchased?

Elaine Zelker Photography retains full copyright of all images taken at your session, which means it’s a criminal offense to copy, scan, photocopy, reproduce, or email any images purchased unless you have paid for the digital files and have a license to print.

What if I need to reschedule because my child is sick?

If your child is sick or not having a good day, just call or email us to find a new date and time for your session. I want your child to be in tip-top shape to create the most beautiful images we can. If you do not show up for your session without calling, your session fee will be forfeited.

Can I get digital files of my photos?

YES! Digital files are available along with your print purchase, or individually. We prefer you print through us, however, you can purchase the digital image to print where you see fit.

How long does it take to receive my images?

Once your order has been placed, your beautiful package will arrive within 1-3 weeks (a few weeks longer for custom framing, canvas gallery wraps, and albums).

What’s not included in the session fee?

Prints/Product and digital files are not included in your session fee.

How many images will we see from our session?

Expect about 20-30 images in your gallery to view.

How long do you keep my images?

If you wish to purchase more images in the future, your session is available to order from up to 6 months after the date of your session.

Do you offer any special offers if I’m happy with my experience and refer a friend?

100% yes!! The BEST compliment we could receive would be your referral to a friend! We want to thank you by offering $50 credit toward your future session for each referral.
